What is a Pre-Register job?
Pre-register jobs are technically jobs set up to gather interest or pre-register students for jobs that will open in the future. There is an option in the portal to allow pre-registers for each job you upload that has a future open application date.
For maximum exposure, we recommend enabling pre-registration and keeping your opportunities published year-round!
"Accepting pre-registration" allows students to express interest and share their contact details with employers before the job opportunity officially opens.
Ticking 'yes' to "Accepting pre-registration" allows students to express interest and share their contact details with employers before the job opportunity officially opens.
If you have published a job with an application open date in the future, and ticked 'yes', students will see a "Pre-register" button on the listing.
example;
You can access pre-registered candidates at any time via the Applicants section of the employer portal.
Any student that pre-registers for your opportunity will show up as Interested in the Applicants section. This allows you to review their profiles and prepare for when the job goes live.
On the open application date, the pre-register automatically converts to a live job and notifies all registered students that they can apply.
We handle all the heavy lifting for you—no further action is required on your part
Please note: It’s super important that you ensure everything is set up correctly, including the application link, before the job converts from a Pre-Register opportunity to a live job.
The importance of updating Pre-Register Jobs instead of creating new ones from scratch
If you’ve created a new job, the system won’t automatically notify those who registered for the previous role, as it doesn’t recognise the jobs are connected.
When does it make sense to create an entirely new job listing?
While making edits to the Pre-Register job is recommended, there are some cases where creating a new job listing is the better option:
- When the Job Has Changed Significantly: If the role has changed so much that students wouldn’t find the new version relevant, it makes sense to create a new job. Ask yourself: Would you want all the students who expressed interest in the original role to be notified about this new one? If the answer is no, create a new job posting.
- For New Roles: If the job is entirely new and wasn’t part of the original pre-register listing, create a new job posting.
Do I need to do anything when the job goes live, or are applicants notified automatically?
- When your opportunity's application period opens, it will automatically transition from accepting pre-registrations to full applications.
- We'll notify you 3 days before and on the day the change happens.
- Additionally, on the day the job goes live, all students who pre-registered will automatically receive a notification that they can now apply 🤓.
- If you'd prefer to manage pre-registrations or expressions of interest (EOIs) through your own ATS or website, you can add the link to the External Talent Pool field. This will redirect students who click "Pre-register" to your site, while still showing up in the Prosple Employer hub.
If you've created a new job but want students who pre-registered for the original listing to be notified, just email us at hello@prosple.com, and we'll ensure they get the update.
